Work modules

Module 6. Dissemination

One of the main concerns of this project is the promotion and dissemination of the lines of researchthroughout the international scientific community with the aim of consolidating efforts and maximizing results. For this reason, we understand that our methodological planning requires a specific module directed by a person who will be responsible for the close monitoring of the dissemination plan described in section 4.2.

As described above, the project includes a specific module of dissemination tasks that will be directed by one of the researchers. Specifically, it will centre on the promotion and dissemination of the research lines proposed in the international scientific to foster collaboration and maximize results at an
international scale. To do this, the participation in and organisation of international conferences is a priority, as are publications in journals with a high impact in this field, enabling better dissemination of the achievements made during the development of the project. Even though the final objective is to
define language modelling for the discovery, enrichment and prediction of relationships between digital entities, the intermediate tasks that lead us to achieving this ultimate goal use tools that, on their own, may be of great interest to the scientific community. The dissemination of the project’s results and their intermediate products will be carried out continually throughout the course of the project, by the following means:

Scientific publication of the results: The results of the research will be published periodically at relevant international (ACL, NAACL, EACL, COLING, RIAO, SIGIR, LREC, EMNLP, RANLP) and national (SEPLN, AEPIA, CERI) scientific conferences, as well as in quality journals in the HLT field,
primarily in those which are internationally recognized (JCR, Scopus, etc.). Specifically, the teams will participate in workshops and specialized conferences on sentiment analysis, opinion mining, reputation, fake news, abusive language…where our proposals may be evaluated by experts in the field (IberLEF, SAAIP, SAS, ALW, FEVER, eRisk, PEOPLE).

Scientific competitions: Participation in scientific competitions enables us to achieve a double objective. First, it allows us to evaluate the tools developed for specific scenarios and under equal conditions with respect to other systems. Second, it allows us to direct and standardise all of the research efforts towards a common meeting point. In this way, as the research generated by the project participates in these competitions, we will take advantage of the resources and metrics provided for their organisation, as well as the creation of an exceptional framework for the comparison of other related work. This is the case of international competitions such as TREC, TAC, CLEF, IberLEF, SemEval, SIGIR, or NTCIR, among others.

Online presentation of results to the scientific community: The publications, prototypes and resources, as well as the intermediate tools developed, will be displayed on the project’s website, using specialised lists, national and international institutions, networks of excellence and scientific and
professional social networks (LinkedIn, ResearchGate, Academia, etc.)

Participation in scientific committees: Collaboration in the organisation of scientific conferences and competitions.

  • Organisation and participation in seminars and self-sponsored events: Organisation of an annual seminar on the project. Dissemination of the results and reuse of tools in advanced courses and doctorates. Dissemination through specialized seminars and summer courses. Dissemination
through events related with European Cluster initiatives.
  • Distribution of resources and tools: Release of tangible products of the project through the use of free licenses for research purposes.
  • Promotion in companies: Continuous contact with industry for future technology transfer projects with the results obtained, as well as the formation of consortiums in European projects. Presentation of the results from the projects in forums at science and technology parks, and others directed towards companies (organised by CDTI or other professional associations).
  • Scientific research networks: Contact with European groups to establish an informal network to study further possibilities of European projects within the framework of Horizon Europe beyond the following COST Actions in which our research team is currently involved: Multi3Generation:
Multi-task, Multilingual, Multi-modal Language Generation(CA18231); Distant Reading for European Literary History(CA16204); Distributed Knowledge Graphs(CA19134); Leading Platform for European Citizens, Industries, Academia and Policymakers in Media Accessibility(CA19142). In addition, both groups are advocates of the PLN.net Excellence Network (https://gplsi.dlsi.ua.es/pln/).
  • Plan for the Promotion of Language Technologies (Plan Nacional de Tecnologías del Lenguaje, PNTL): We will also take advantage of the initiatives of the PNTL belonging to ENIA to promote the dissemination of the project’s results and collaboration with the rest of the groups and
companies related to NLP on a national level.

Milestones

  • Participation in national and international research forums.
  • Opening and promotion of the project’s lines of research to scientific community.
